Darkness had fallen, but the hunt had just begun. Maria scrambled over trash bins and scampered round a corner, drawing daggers from their sheaths and cursing the heat that prevailed even in the night.
Debris crashed somewhere in front of her.
So close already, she thought, and stopped dead in her tracks. Very carefully, she pricked two fingers with her daggers and watched the blood drip down the blades. Once again she heard crashing, only that it had gotten closer this time. She closed her eyes, focused her will on the blades and her blood, imagining fire. Fire. The blades lit up, flames danced around them and singed the sleeves of her jacket. She should have left it at home.
But that would have meant her end. Barely noticeable at first, the air got colder with every second. And the crashing and crunching noises were coming closer still. Maria took a deep breath and rounded another corner, bracing herself for the fight to come.
Feedback much appreciated, pre-editing opening paragraph of my current WIP.
Name's Lina, let's get to the more interesting things now.
First: Call me whatever you like, I don't mind nicknames.
Second: I am an aspiring writer, I like photography and I've been drawing ever since I could hold a pencil. Like, the first drawing I ever did was a ghost and I was about 3 years old then. It looked amazing. Maybe I'll find the drawing and post it on here.
I also try my hand at DIY stuff sometimes, I love animals and bells and keys. Keys are so damn cool! If you ever manage to make me mad, give me some keys and bells (and pizza) and I'll like you again.
That's it for now, enjoy your stay and take care out there!
PS: Thanks for awesome Llama Badges <3
